Shishmaref Coastal Erosion: Hitting close to home.

Shishmaref is an island community on the west coast of Alaska. The village has experienced severe erosion in recent years. This resource would be of use to secondary science students for the purposes of studying erosion or possible effects of climate change.

    This is a good image to spark a brainstorming session on the impact of global warming to coastal communities. Very dramatic!

    I also think this is a good image of the impact of erosion and it could be used it in a secondary science classroom.
