Landscape fashioned by water: Columbia Glacier animation

This link shows a NASA animation of the retreat of the Columbia Glacier and highlights important glacial terms. It would be a good introduction to learning how glaciers can change the topography of an area.

The USGS Alaska Science Center water research page has an interactive flood map students can access to find out information about rivers in in their ¬†own area. I would use this site to have student’s research historical and current stream flow on a local river.
