My name is Allie Whitaker. I am originally from Maine, and that is where I spend my summers, living and working at a camp on a lake. I like to wakeboard, and I love to waterski, though I’m not that great at either. I have spent four winters here in Fairbanks, and I’m still pretty sure I don’t like the cold. I finished up my biology degree last December and spent the spring working on some ed classes and getting an EMT certification. One of the most important things I’ve learned about teaching, I learned from my aunt, and I’m already putting it into practice: keep a stash of chocolate chips in your desk, for emergencies of course.
