Compiled by Mark Francek (more info) at Central Michigan University

Find animations for the rock cycle including metamorphic rock formation, classic sedimentary rocks formation, igneous rock formation, and igneous rocks classification.
The website described above is a great source for a variety of animations involving the rock cycle. Students can see processes that are not normally visible to the human eye resulting in a deeper understanding of the concepts.
A note of importance for all these groovy flash animations is to make sure students are able to access the material.   If not on campus at a computer lab students may not have the correct software to use them and or bandwidth issues can also occur.   Some of the animations in the link above note long loading times.   The coolest tools out there may not be the best fit choice in each educational situation.
