Lost Worlds of South America- Islands on the Land

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbsQWq8nSUg&feature=related  This is one part of a National Geographic video about the tepuis, flat-topped mountains of South America , which describes the geology, biology, and history of the tepuis.   I would  use this video to create interest in my course because it shows a strange and fabulous place,  and perhaps I could make it more relevant since I have climbed a tepui, and it might be interesting to kids (elementary is my focus) who have seen the movie “Up,” part of which takes place on a tepui. I can think of some elementary-level activities we could do to learn about the tepuis and demonstrate our knowledge, and ways to extend it to language arts, Spanish, and biology.
