An Introduction to Earth Science


For an introductory lesson to Earth Science, I would most likely use Earth Science Picture of the Day’s website, which features diverse photos from around the world. The website features images of natural phenomena and diverse landscapes that shape the environment in which we live, and anyone is invited to contribute photos. I would create student interest by having all my students submit one photo for consideration during the semester. Additionally, we would look at the new picture at the beginning of each class period. Finally, we might search the archives to view pictures from Alaska, such as the two below.
