This article from the USGS explains research done that shows how coastal erosion has increased in parts of the Alaskan Coast. The title says that “erosion doubles” but it was only in a five year period and for part of the coastline. This article from National Getographic has good information, and it would be intersting to present this to the class to address bias in media. It describes a section of shoreline in Alaska that has doubled it’s erosion rate. This also briefly links erosion to factors such as storms and sea ice, so it could be a good discussion for how multiple factors affect Earth’s processes such as erosion.
