Iceberg goes on tour

Thought this was a neat article, a 1500 pound iceberg of the Mendenhall Glacier will be shown to students in D.C. later this month.

I would use this article to build interest in local based instruction, to show students what amazing things we have in our state and use that to move into the study of glaciers. Living in Fairbanks we are just a few hours drive to the Isabel Glacier outside of Paxton. I have gotten to hike to this glacier and want to help students see that living here in Alaska allows us to experience things that others have to have shipped to them to experience just a piece (literally) of.
