Not necessarily ground water, but drinking water

Attached is a link about cisterns and drinking water around Ketchikan.  I am new to the area and have been learning a great deal regarding cisterns.  When I first moved here I didn’t know what one was now I am actually using one.  Well my landlord has one and we use it.  This article talks about the negative effects that can come from water , being caught from the roof, near an old mill.  This article is neat because it talks about filtration and what to avoid if you want to take advantage of all the rain, in an environmentally sound way.
