Honolulu Creek

Since this is an Earth Science class, I thought i’d ask if anyone has every explored that ravine at Honolulu Creek along the Parks Highway? It is on the right going south. I have driven past it for years on the drive between Fairbanks and Anchorage. When you catch a glimpse,  it looks like the earth just barfed down into the creek. When you are in it, the layers of deposits and the wide variety of rock types its simply fascinating.

My son and I stopped and explored for an hour this summer on the way back from a soccer tournament. We could’ve spent an entire day. If you haven’t even taken the time to stop, you should.

Wow, cool. Thank you for the travel tip. I love the photo with the rocks on the right.

Nice pictures. I have seen that place several times but never actually stopped to look around. I will be sure to do that next I’m on the Parks.
